Descripción de la Unidad

En la Unidad de Neuromodulación y Plasticidad Cerebral (UNyPC) se brinda terapia de estimulación cognitiva y motora, es decir, actividades dirigidas a mejorar el rendimiento de los procesos como, atención, memoria, lenguaje, y funciones ejecutivas. En el área de restauración motora, se trabaja en alteraciones de la marcha, a través del entrenamiento físico, terapia de alta intensidad, y el entrenamiento repetitivo-tarea con el objetivo de reducir la discapacidad y mejorar la movilidad de pacientes que han tenido algúna lesión focal cerebral como un ictus o evento vascular cerebral (embolia o derrame), enfermedades neurodegenerativas como el Parkinson y en casos con disfunción cognitiva, como el síndrome de Down y el espectro autista.

La estimulación cognitiva y motora involucra cuatro diferentes tipos de intervención:

  • Re-educación cognitiva y motora
  • Modificación de conducta
  • Intervención con familias
  • Readaptación vocacional y social

Objetivo: Reducir las alteraciones cognitivas, conductuales y motoras, manejar estas dificultades y reducir su impacto en la vida cotidiana para su reintegración social. Todo lo anterior tiene como objetivo mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes.

Programas

  • Sesiones neuropsicológicas individuales y presenciales, 2-3 veces por semana, con una duración de 60 minutos. Se utilizan softwares de rehabilitación como el NeuronUp.
  • Sesiones de restauración motora 2-3 veces por semana, con una duración de 40 minutos. En casos seleccionados se vincula el caso para la realización de estudios especiales de neuroimagen.
  • Sesiones de estimulación eléctrica transcraneal 2-3 veces por semana, como terapia adyuvante a las sesiones neuropsicológicas y de restauración motora.

Infraestructura

Se cuenta con

  • Tres consultorios equipados.
  • Equipo de cómputo con los programas requeridos.
  • Área con equipo para la re-educación y el fortalecimiento físico.
  • Equipo de estimulación eléctrica transcraneal.
  • Vínculo con las instalaciones de imagen para realizar resonancia magnética cerebral funcional.

  • Horario: martes a viernes de 11:00 a.m.   a   2:00 p.m.

Estimulación Física

  • Horario: lunes a viernes de 8:00 am a 1:00 pm.
